Support Youth Mental Wellness with Mental Health First Aid

Did you know that 1 in 5 teens experience a mental health condition and half of all mental illnesses begin by age 14? Youth Mental Health First Aid is an evidence-based training that teaches how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges in adolescents ages 12–18.

Ideal for teachers, school staff, coaches, parents, and anyone working with youth, the training covers critical topics such as depression, anxiety, trauma, substance use, and crisis response.

Learn how to support young people using the ALGEE action plan:

  • Assess for risk of harm

  • Listen nonjudgmentally

  • Give reassurance

  • Encourage professional help

  • Encourage self-help and support
