Donald Clark, MD

Donald (Trey) Clark III, MD, MPH is a practicing cardiologist and Associate Professor of Medicine at UMMC. He is a cum laude graduate of the University of Mississippi (2006) and completed medical school at UMMC (2010). He completed internal medicine residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in Birmingham, AL (2013) where he also served as chief medical resident (2013-2014). He went on to complete fellowship training in cardiovascular disease at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, OH (2017). During fellowship training, he obtained Master of Public Health degree from the Harvard School of Public Health in Boston, MA. He joined the faculty at UMMC in 2017 and currently serves as the director of the cardiology fellowship training program. Dr. Clark’s interests include primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease and the use of technology for cardiovascular risk factor control. He is the medical director of remote patient monitoring at the UMMC Center for Telehealth, holds grants in the area of telemonitoring for cardiovascular risk factor control, and is an investigator with the Jackson Heart Study. Dr. Clark has spoken at national and international professional meetings and authored over 50 publications in journals including Circulation, European Heart Journal, and JAMA Cardiology. 

Andrew Wilhelm, MD

I am a Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine and serve as Chief of Division of Pulmonary/Critical Care. Completed medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie, Pennsylvania and Internal Medicine residency and Chief Resident at University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2008. Completed Pulmonary and Critical Care training at University of Alabama-Birmingham in 2011.  I have been at UMMC since 2011. I served as Medical Director of Medical Intensive Care Unit for 8 years, and was the critical care COVID response leader for the institution. I serve as Co-chair of the Institutional Quality Board and served 2 terms as member of Board of Trustees of the CHEST Foundation in American College of Chest Physicians. I see general pulmonary clinic patients, ICU recovery clinic, and round in the medical intensive care unit.

Vishnu Garla, MD

Dr. Vishnu Garla is an Associate Professor at the University Of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, Mississippi. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics at Marshall University, West Virginia, and an Endocrinology fellowship at the University Of Mississippi Medical Center.  Dr.Garla supervises the Diabetes Remote Patient Monitoring Program at the University of Mississippi Telehealth Center of Excellence. He also serves as the Associate Program Director of the Endocrinology fellowship program and the Associate Medical Director of the Clinical Research and Trials Unit. His research interests include the utilization of technology to overcome barriers in diabetes care, and the effect of chronic diseases on bone metabolism. Besides, endocrinology he enjoys reading historical accounts and biographies of eminent people. 

Elizabeth Fryoux, MD

Dr. Elizabeth Fryoux was born in Monroe, Louisiana and is a graduate of Millsaps College. She obtained her medical degree at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport. She completed her internship at Tulane University and then internal medicine residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Following a chief resident year, she joined on as faculty in the General Internal Medicine division at UMMC. She is board certified in internal medicine and obesity medicine and serves as the lead physician for the cardiometabolic clinic at UMMC.
