As telepalliative care programs expand across health systems, demonstrating value is more important than ever. This webinar describes the key performance indicators (KPIs) that matter most when measuring the impact of telepalliative care. We used EHR and billing records from one large health system to develop KPI indicators. These include: access, timeliness of consultation, hospital length of stay, discharge outcomes, cost savings, readmissions, and patient and provider satisfaction.
We discuss KPI findings from analysis of real-world data from a multi-hospital telepalliative care program and show which of these KPIs can be derived from a large national database using 2024 data sets. Participants will learn how to develop meaningful metrics, interpret results, and use data to drive quality improvement, operational excellence, and sustainable program growth.
