HIV treatment of pregnant and postpartum persons via telehealth

Overview Resources

Project Overview

Due to limited access to HIV -specialists and high-risk obstetric care outside of the tri-county Charleston area, many pregnant people with HIV in SC’s Lowcountry are referred to MUSC for prenatal care and delivery. The 3 major goals of this project are to utilize asynchronous telehealth services to: 1) increase retention and engagement in HIV care in the first 13 months postpartum, 2) monitor HIV antiretroviral therapy (ART) use and viral suppression, and 3) offer comprehensive contraceptive services.
