National Telehealth Data Warehouse

The National Telehealth Data Warehouse (NTDW) is a pioneering initiative designed to collect, integrate, analyze, and disseminate telehealth data across multiple academic health centers to improve care delivery, inform policy, and advance research, with a particular focus on underserved rural communities. The project aims to develop and implement a sustainability model, fully ingest data from external sites, produce three additional research papers based on warehouse data, deliver at least one formal presentation of findings, and continue marketing and outreach efforts to recruit additional participants. The NTDW is especially relevant for rural communities, where telehealth plays a vital role in addressing persistent barriers to care such as transportation, provider shortages, and economic challenges. By aggregating and standardizing data across leading institutions, the project provides a scalable and replicable model for national-level analysis, supports real-time and longitudinal studies, and generates actionable insights to promote health equity. As a result, the NTDW represents a major innovation in telehealth research and infrastructure, offering new pathways to strengthen healthcare access and outcomes for rural and underserved populations.
