COE Webinar Series: When Healthcare Becomes the Trial Site: Telehealth, AI, and the End of Trial Operations as We Know Them

Decentralized trials didn’t eliminate sites. They turn healthcare into the site and quietly outsource operations to patients and clinicians. Telehealth has become an essential tool in the decentralized trial ecosystem, supporting remote enrollment, treatment monitoring, and measurements that previously required the patient to travel to a site. Now AI arrives as the accelerant: protocol-to-workflow automation, consent-to-engagement personalization, and agentic paperwork engines that could make “trial operations” look more like software than staffing. This talk confronts what we have gained, what we have lost, and what we’re about to break—unless telehealth and clinical teams help actively shape the emerging AI-enabled trial ecosystem.
